Multi-drug therapy is free at every government health centre in India, and it cures leprosy in six to twelve months. That has been true since 1982.
What is not free is reaching the patient before the nerve damage sets in — the bus fare to the clinic, the dressings between visits, the protective footwear, and the school fees for a child whose father can no longer work.

Almost every disability we treat began with a delay, and almost every delay began with one of these beliefs.
“Leprosy makes fingers fall off.”

Questions donors actually ask
Yes. We are registered under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act, so your donation qualifies for a deduction. Add your PAN on the donation form and the 80G certificate reaches you by email within three working days. Without a PAN we still issue a receipt, but the certificate cannot be generated.
The honest answer is that we do not quote a single percentage, because programme and administrative costs are not cleanly separable — a field worker's salary is both. What we do instead is publish the audited statements in full on our transparency page so you can work it out yourself.
Yes. Every case on our active cases page is a named individual with a stated amount. Choose one and your gift is tagged to that case. When it closes we publish what happened.
Yes. Around 95% of people are naturally immune, transmission requires months of close household contact, and a patient stops being infectious within days of starting treatment. You cannot catch leprosy by shaking hands, sharing food, or sitting beside someone.
